Privacy & sources

On your device

Favourites, volume, your last station and guide dismissal are saved in your browser. A copy of the station directory may also be cached locally. You can remove these through your browser’s site-data settings.

Station searches and filters run on your device.

External connections

Your browser connects to map providers, the Radio Browser directory, the broadcasters you select and the analytics service. These services receive connection information, including your IP address, and may keep their own logs. Your hosting provider may also keep access logs.

Starting a station sends its directory ID to Radio Browser as a listening click report. Audio streams directly from the broadcaster.

Analytics

RadioGlobe uses Plausible for visitor analytics, with its script served through milkymouse.com. Pageview information can include the station URL you visit. Favourites and search filters remain in your browser.

Location

Location is requested only when you choose “Find stations near me” and approve your browser’s permission prompt. Coordinates are used on your device to find nearby stations. Viewing an area can request map tiles for that area.

Radio directory

Station details come from Radio Browser, a community-maintained, public-domain directory. Locations and availability may be incomplete or inaccurate. Stations may be offline or restricted in your region. Directory reuse does not grant rights to radio broadcasts.

Maps and software

The main globe uses MapLibre with OpenFreeMap, OpenMapTiles and OpenStreetMap data. The fallback globe uses D3 and public-domain Natural Earth geography.

HLS playback uses hls.js when needed. Bundled software licences: MapLibre, OpenFreeMap style, hls.js, D3, TopoJSON and world-atlas.
